Wow, we are already into our fourth month of the year, where did the time go? Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, a religious holiday for us Catholics and many Christians around the World. It is a “reminder of welcoming of Jesus into our hearts and our willingness to follow him” based on Jesus going into Jerusalem and the people waving palm branches to welcome him there. How sad that a week later, the Man would be dead, crucified, and so many would have turned on him. This, of course, is followed by Easter Sunday, when Jesus rises again in order to save all of us.

This makes you think, not just about our belief in God, but our belief in humanity. It is a statement about how so many people welcome people into their lives, only to turn on them later for whatever reason, or to have those people whom we have helped turn on us when it is convenient for them to do so. It may be different circumstances, but it is all related. Jesus was a much bigger person than us in so many ways, he forgave everyone, even those who did this to him. As human beings, we know how hard that it is to forgive those who have hurt us. Yet letting that hurt stay with us affects us much more than it affects them. Forgiveness does not necessarily mean letting that person back into your life, it just means it allows you to move on with yours, letting go of the negative and looking for the positive.

So, during this and every Lenten season, instead of giving up something that we eat) which most people fail at miserably anyway lol), let’s give up holding onto to grudges, hate, or hurt, and follow Christ’s example of forgiveness. In the process, we will be helping ourselves mentally. Then we can concentrate on helping others and enjoying life again.

May your Easter be blessed and happy. Happy Easter, Everyone!
